The system features a robust direct-drive mechanism for azimuth (AZ) and elevation (EL), ensuring high reliability and precise operation. Its cap-design feed enhances performance by reducing side lobes and optimising efficiency. The POMA-60-D operates independently of GPS, utilising advanced satellite beacon tracking to correct gyro errors. This ensures accurate satellite tracking, requiring only a manual input of local latitude and longitude before initial satellite pointing. Its rapid deployment capabilities allow initial satellite pointing in under 80 seconds during GPS/BD cold starts and less than 60 seconds during hot starts or manual input . This antenna is widely used in various applications, including military platforms, where it enhances combat mobility and effectiveness. Additionally, it supports emergency command and communication needs for public safety agencies, including police, fire services, traffic control, and civil defence.
